I was never happy with the 1Ds; it was slow and noisy. Other than that the files were just... OK. The 1DsmkII, was so much better in every respect in comparison. Today, though, I'd suggest looking at the 1Dx or, if you find one at an obscenely good price, the 1DxmkII.

In which aspect is the 1DS II better in relation to the I? Thanks

A few that come to mind for me:

  • Much better battery life
  • Higher ISO capability (1250 vs 1600)
  • Much better upper ISO performance
  • Dual card slots
  • More pixels (16 million vs 11 million)
  • Much sharper rear LCD
  • ETTL-II compatibility (1Ds is ETTL only)

CESA beat me to it and summarized very well.
