Upgrade from D700 --- D780 or D850

I've been reading posts on dp about the same question. Sorry to start another thread seems like redundant. However most of the questions were asked by pros or semi pros who have very specific needs or type of photography they do. I'm not anything near a pro so I would appreciate your suggestion on the camera selection for a regular photo taker.

I use my DSLR about a few times a month. Most pictures taken are portraits (my 9 year old), landscapes (during every family trip), and sports (skiing, and rhythmic gymnastics).

I love my D700 for almost everything, and it's a shame I probably didn't spend enough time to fully take advantage of it during about 10 years of use. I use 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8 all the time, also have a 50/1.4 which I rarely use at the moment. Thinking to add a 20 f/1.8 for possible milky way photoshoot on our upcoming family trip. I'm not ready to switch to mirroless fully, still love DSLR. I do have a entry level mirrorless Panasonic Lumix which works perfectly when I don't feel like carrying my D700, or just do some casual shooting.

I would say at least I want a camera that can auto focus excellently, fast and accurate, and would appreciate solid performance in low light. I also would love a quieter shutter which I've hated on D700. Other things I want are more pixels (but probably not too much as on D850), wireless transfer (now using a third party transmitter with D700 which is ok), better af tracking, and video would be nice although this is not a must for me. I occasionally print big poster size prints, but not often. Sometimes I find myself wanting more pixels because I'm not a pro that can always shoot exactly I wanted, so cropping sometimes would be necessary. I also find shooting in low light is more often than you expect, especially during all sorts of events, concerts, or even fireworks.

Appreciate any suggestion from you!
