A6400/6600 focus with Sigma 18-35f1.8

If I get this combo with the sigma adapter, will the focus system work good?  How good?  I have the Canon M50 with the adapter so I have been using the Sigma lens with it for about 2 years.   Will it work just as well with the Sony A6x00?

Main question is - Will it work better than adapting Canon brand lens?

My gf already has both the 6100 and the 6400.  (yes, I got her better cameras than what I have -a Canon M50).  So she could use the Sigma on those cameras.  And I could get the A6600 instead of a Canon R6 (R6 is really more than I need).  Main reason for wanting myself to upgrade to the R6 or A6600 is thatI want image stabilization with the Sigma.  Since the lens does not have it, the IBIS in the A6600 would give it to me.  The A6600 looks like the best option for me, being much lower in price (especially starting today with it being $200 off).

PS - asking these questions in regards to both stills and video.  Thanks!
