Jim, thanks for these helpful tests as usual. In your post you said you constructed a close-to-worst-case test. This made me wonder -- what are the factors contributing to shutter shock (other than that shutter type)? This would be helpful for understanding when using ES is critical. I'm assuming:

Focal length (longer is worse)

Orientation (portrait is worse)

Shutter speed?

Presence of IBIS?

Other sensor differences (thinking about my GFX50R)?
