Extended ISO 50 on R5 - how is it implemented?

Does anybody know how exactly the extended ISO 50 is implemented on the R5? Is it just a metering shift?

I shot the very same scene with constant light, fixed shutter speed and aperture, at ISO 50 and ISO 100. The raw histogram (in RawDigger) shows no difference at all.

So does it make any sense to use ISO 50 if I shoot raw only?
