Lens Decentering Issues

After having owned/used at least a dozen lenses in M.4/3 and APSC, I have found the most common IQ issue (for me) with non pro lenses is decentering. A lens can have acceptable IQ over the entire FL with some stopping down, but then decentering impacts some portion of the FL. Not just extreme corners, but along one side of the frame. For example, at 5.6 a lens may be acceptable within a certain Fl range but then I discover that one side, may 10-20 % is soft and requires F11 to make acceptable. Now the lens is much slower or forced to frame so that the soft side can be cropped out. I now always test any lens purchase for acceptable sharpness and decentering over a FL range. Absolute perfection is not expected, but there are limits to acceptable. Just my experience.
