Hello:

I need to start a small project to shoot 4k 10bit video.

I was looking for all options for my limited budget.

Accidentally found out that some users can actually achieve 10 bit video recording with low to mid range Canon cameras.

Is there a M series camera capable of achieving 4k 10 bit video recording via magic lantern?

No. The original M is the only one that works with Magic Lantern, and that camera is incapable of shooting 4k. The only M camera thst would work for your needs would be the M6 II and you will also need an external recorder to get 10bit.

The least expensive mirrorless camera that I can think of that can do 10 bit internal is the Fuji X-T3. Panasonic might have some options too. Frankly, Canon, 4k, 10 bit, and inexpensive is a combination that simply does not exist.

I have enjoyed reading mnowak's contributions for years.

The current (pithy) post is no exception.
