XF 70-300mm Good for a Whale Watch?

I am planning to attend a whale watch and am curious if the XF 70-300mm, mounted to an X-T3, would be a good solution for that activity. I have an XF 50-140mm, 2X teleconverter, and XC 50-230mm that I can use instead, but each of them have inherent limitations: focal length (50-140mm), image degradation (50-14mm with TC), and lack of weather resistance (50-230mm).

The company operating the whale watch told me that sometimes whales come near the boat, but often times they stay far enough away that a longer focal length would be useful. Do you think the XF 70-300mm is the best choice, or should I go with one of the other solutions?

ANSWER:
Fujifilm X-T3
