Given that even Fuji has chosen to go the smaller medium format route (55mm diagonal instead of 67mm) I wonder if we will ever see a move towards even larger sensors . Say like MF 6 x 9 size (101mm). I guess this maybe the largest sensor size beyond which it won't be portable ? I am basing it on size of Fuji GW690 III

Or the improvements in 55m can soon (next 3-5 yrs) take us to 14+ PDR ?

Also, given that the cost of such digital cameras will be too high, I wonder if it makes sense for Fuji to release modern film camera with AF in 6 x 9 film. Would they have any advantages over current digital MFs like GFX100s ? Atleast they shouldn't be as costly

(On a related note Christopher Nolan still prefers IMAX film )
