Firmware issue or a feature with Face detect?

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is a feature or if I'm overlooking something here.

On my XT-4, if I have Face detect enabled (even though the subject is clearly not a human), the exposure etc seem to be correct. However, should I disabled Face detect, the camera over exposes or under exposes the entire image - as if I hit a +10 or -10 on the exposure. I noticed this behaviour a few times on video too.

Note: I take pictures in AF-S, Still, Auto ISO, Shutter & Aperture, in RAW.

The images below were taken seconds apart (+0 exposure), the ONLY thing that changed was the Face detect being enabled. I've only imported the RAW files into Photoshop, then exported them to 16:9 in JPEG. The same behaviour is with the RAW files, so it's not a PC/software bug.

I'm I missing something here?

This might be related, too: I often find that in videos (I shoot at 4K 60fps), the camera with Face Detect and/or Auto Eye seems to quickly lose focus of my face, even though the camera is mounted on a tripod + I'm still looking at the camera. I can provide examples if needs be on the video front.

Any help/pointers would be appreciated - thank you!
