Thanks Stevie.

Yes like you I am all for good image quality.

I will be getting as close to subjects as I can for detail.

The fz300 is already ordered and should be with me by Wednesday.

Looking forward to it coming.

I will keep the sx70 as a reserve for the longer zoom.

Thanks again for this review and your other posts about the fz. All very informative.

It’s great that you’ve ordered a copy of the camera, Al. Well done.

I hope it serves you as well as I suspect it might do.

Cheers and good luck…

Thanks.

My new fz300 arrived as scheduled on Wednesday.

Not much time to test it for photos yet but already impressed with the build quality.

It is not on par with my more expensive G9 but for the price it has a solid feel to it.

Ergonomically it is great. Fits in the hand like it was made for me.

The grip is secure and all controls buttons and dials are easily accessed.

I like the twin options to zoom by the lens barrel lever or the usual toggle switch.

So many assignable function buttons will come in handy.

For the money I am well impressed up to now.

I plan to get out shooting with it over the weekend. I will let you know how things progress.

So far so good.
