Trying to decide between the X-pro3 and X100V
2

Hi all,

It's been a really long time since I've last posted on this forum, due to a number of reasons (I kind of cured myself of some of my GAS), but I've been having some first world problems.

I've been living solely with a GR iii for more than a year now and surprisingly I have been extremely pleased with it as my only camera.

However, I now have a baby and I'm finding the 28mm equiv. fov very difficult. For the foreseeable future, most of my photography will be of my daughter, wife and the possible travels we may do as a family. I've considered simply cropping my gr iii pics but it feels like such a waste and I'm not committed to that fov at any rate.

I'm wanting to come back to fuji. Clearly I like a small form factor, but to be honest I don't mind about the camera body at all. The main reason (other than amazing shooting style and colours etc) I don't wish to try full frame is all the lenses I find attractive are huge.

My goal is to have one camera and one lens, whether I get an ILC or not. I like the limitations and I dislike carrying a lot and changing lenses.

Before my ricoh days, the best lens I ever shot with was the 35mm f1.4. Unfortunately i never got the chance to own one (had the f2 instead) and in general i always seemed to do well with the 50mm equiv.

Having said that, when I had the X100F, I took some of my best travel photos.

I'm trying to decide between getting the X100V and getting an X-Pro3 with the 35mm f1.4.

The obvious disadvantage of the X-Pro3 is the price (but i really really would want that if I get an ILC) as the whole package ends up costing between 700 and 800 more euros.

I'm wondering whether the 50mm focal length equivalent would be too limiting as my sole lens for photography as an enthusiast who likes to travel occasionally and who'll mostly be photographing his family.

Cheers,
Vittorio
