Aperture fits the barrel diameter non-rule that has never been deviated from. Don’t know if IS would fit too. No clue on price point. Probably more than Canon suspects M users are willing to spend on glass. Capped at about $500 right now. These would push $1,000 I guess.

But $1,000 for a 45-125 f/2.8 on an M6 ii vs $2,700 for an RF 70-200 f/2.8 on an R would be great for events. Graduation, indoor sports, concerts, confirmation, etc.

Wonder if Sigma would be game to compliment their trio of primes?

Make them f/4 or f/3.5-4.5 and quality on par with RF L zooms and I will buy in a heartbeat. f/2.8 zooms would be too large for the M. M for me and I guess for many is about small hardware and relatively high IQ.

Neither is going to happen, though. M is also about low cost.
