The ef-s system is at least "starving as fast" as the ef-m system. Canon released the 32mm, and Sigma released the 16+30+56mm f/1.4 primes for the ef-m system after the last ef-s release of an ef-s lens.

I`ll take your word about Sigma lens AF inconsistency on the 90D in OVF mode (I`ve not used Canon DSLRs in years and the 1 series for work were the last) but in LV mode, where the camera becomes a DSLR shaped M6-II there will be no difference . and that Sigma 18-35 F1.8 will handle far better on a camera with a proper grip than it will on a compact mirrorless body the size of a G3X for sure ..

No. Thet handling is good with the M6mkII, as you can use it with the viewfinder, and bad with the 90D, as it's crazy heavy to hold in front of you.

It doesn't matter if no one ever makes any more new EF glass because the list of them is endless ,

For crop cameras there are no better options on this "endless" list for the

- Samyang 12mm f/2.0

- Canon 11-22mm

- Sigma 16mm

- Sigma 30mm

- Sigma 56mm

There are also no better options for crop cameras than the adapted Sigma 18-35mm and 50-100mm f/1.8, as those won't work properly on the 90D.

Furthermore: every lens that can be mounted on a 90D can be adapted on a M6mkII.

When it comes to glass options there's just one conclusion possible: M wins. Period.

the M system is a totally different matter .... If canon make a decent standard M zoom of the same quality as the 11-22 even if its as slow and do the right thing and put EFCS in the M6-II I`ll have one tomorrow (not a lot to ask is it especially EFCS) - better still the same camera in M5 form with the EVF built in, a deeper grip and IBIS ..

Crop will die, both ef-s and M..  RF will survive both. That's why an 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS USM is such a durable option. It will survive your RP. Shoot that RP 4 years, get the R5 after it, and you will have great IQ for not a whole lot of money per year.
