I'm an old guy too. I'm now 83. But maybe you can answer something for me.

I recently bought a G95 and a couple of lenses. In most respects, I liked it; but sent it back because of the very sensitive shutter button. I could only feel the half press step in the shutter button if I concentrated on it, and sometimes, not even then. A review of the G9 commented on how sensitive it's shutter button was. So, here's my question: is the G85 button that sensitive?

I do have some damage to my right index finger from an infection; but have no problems with my FZ1000, FZ200, Canon G7X II, or any of the 9 other cameras I own.

I have a G9 and the half-press pressure feels fine to me - light but OK.

However it is quite easy to find you have changed the settings (accidentally or without fully realising the effect) so that it takes a photo at the half press. This caused a lot of confusion for me to start with, especially with all the comments about a too-light shutter making me think it was my heavy finger to blame rather than my settings.
