Basic question from a lens neophyte

I have purchased one lens, and aside from that only used kit lenses so I am woefully underinformed about lenses. The ONE lens I purchased that wasn't a kit lens is a Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III RXD. I use it for everything. But have been getting into macro lately. I just noticed this on the page.

Max magnification 0.34×

Does that mean that the lens is only capable of making objects %34 as large as they are in real life?

I know that macro lenses are like 1:1 or 2:1 but I understand this is 0.34:1 from what it says.

Seems like a dumb question but it's the one I have. :/
