It could very easily come in WAAAY lighter and smaller than the 70-300ii. Think of how the EF-M 18-150 compares to the EF-S 18-135 STM in size and weight.

Heck, it would be even smaller than the 55-250 that you mention. Other manuf have baby tele-zooms. We should get one too!

ps. Of course we never will though. Not with the cheapo RF 100-400 knocking at the door.
