Tiny walk-around sidebar: extraordinary enthusiast support

As we wait on the K-3iii...

The thought occurred to me that Pentax has a history of producing relatively cheap walk-arounds that, while not *'s or perhaps 'professional grade', consistently 'punch above their weight.' Just excellent, cost-effective performers.

The 18-135mm certainly comes to mind--my first lens and still a favorite, and the even better (though slightly more expensive) 16-85mm.

And although I don't have it, the way K-1 users talk about the Pentax D FA 28-105mm makes me think that it probably belongs in that same class: another outstanding, WR walkabout with great characteristics at a great price.

Any other lenses that fall into this category? Or strike you as extraordinary bargains for what they are?

I just hope that everyone who's complained about the K-3iii delay actually buys one. One wonders, otherwise, about the sincerity of their complaints.
