Thom's reflection on Z flagship vs Z6/Z7
4

Have you read the latest Thom Hogan's post?

I agree that the distance between Z7II and announced Z9(D6 killer) will be quite big.

Thus I wonder:

- Will Nikon release another (Z8?) body to fulfill the gap? I'd imagine 24 or 36MP, 15-20 no-blackout FPS, 4K60p uncropped but no 8K? Better dual axis phase AF with new powerfull Expeed 7?

- Or we can expect Z7II firmware improvements that will push dual-processor design to its limits before Z7 III (major update with high power Expeed 7, stacked sensor) is released?

Me personally I could stay with:

- a reasonably priced Z5 II (9fps, 24MP BSI, better low light AF performance, SD cards). I like the design with the mode dial on the right I'd use it mainly with primes or a fast standard zoom for portraits, studio conditions, and indoor events

- Z70 (D500 like) 15fps, zero blackout, small IBIS + Z-mount UWA zoom (and current kit lens) as a compact hiking, travel, outdoors, street (with 40mm pancake) tool
