Do we need an FTZ adapter for screw-driven AF lenses?

Alright. The mythical FTZ adapter that can autofocus screw-driven AF lenses is generating some interest & discussion here, so why not add some numbers.

I'm using the short-hand "AF-D" for brevity below because everyone's calling these lenses that, even though it's a bit of a misnomer - we're not talking about the 28-70/2.8 or 300/4 AF-S D here. Other than that, the answers below are (hopefully) self-explanatory.

Hope this will be someone illuminating or otherwise at least provide some entertainment.
