Using a Lumix G9 + Oly TeleConv MC-14 on Oly 40-150 f2.8 ???
1

I have a Lumix G9 and the Oly 40-150 f2.8 PRO, i am highly satisfied with the combo and plan to add a Teleconverter (the Oly MC-14).

Do you have any experiences with drawbacks on mounting the Oly MC-14 on a Panasonic G9 ???

I think from the specs the converter is worth it. According to most lab measurements and comparing 150mm without converter vs. 210mm with MC-14 the sharpness loss from the MC-14 is acceptable.

You loose approx 6 Mio resolution Pixel (line sharpness) yet keep the 20MP Beyer color scan (color precission). Whereas with a manual crop to 210mm in post processing you loose 10 Mio resolution Pixel and also 10 Mio color scan pixel.

The public Lenstip measurement linked below is a bid hard, most lab measurement (e.g. digitalkamera.de) indicate at f4.0 (210mm with MC-14 vs 150mm without) a lines per mm (horizontal and vertical) loss of <= factor 1,2

210 mm with MC-14 vs. 150mm without, line per mm
f5.6 52 vs 72 -> 1,38461538461538
f4.0 48 vs 76 -> 1,58333333333333

Compare to manual crop
5184 x 3888 --> MP 20.155.392
3703 x 2777 --> MP 10.283.363 (cropped in Post Processing)

1,2 sharpness loss with MC-14
4298 x 3224 --> MP 13.857.182
