I'm also quite intrigued in this subject. I've had an X-E1 and X-E2, for about 4 years, and recently traded up to an X-Pro 2. I only shoot manual vintage lenses with my Fuji cameras. And have always used the punch-in option because it has been the most accurate way to focus. So I will need to try out some of the advice I've read so far.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how well the OVF works with adopted vintage lenses. I've read that it's not really a good option, but hope this is not the case.

The OVF has some issues that I can not stand when used with manual focus lenses. First, while the ERF makes the OVF somewhat useful, especially compared to the X-Pro1 (no ERF), there are still issues with Parallax. Because the camera can't know the focus distance with non native Fuji lenses, it cannot compensate for parallax. This mean that the bright frame will be off, as well as the focus point for ERF purposes (unless shot close to or at infinity).

And I say this as I love the X-Pro line. They are great cameras, but are not meant to be used with manual focus lenses. The X-Ex line cameras will be much better in this regard because of the accuracy of the EVF, if a RF style camera is necessary.

I know that Fuji wants to sell their AF lenses, but I wish they made it easier for those of us that want to shoot manual focus lenses only.
