There are still a lot of interface features I like about LR. Maybe my top request would be for DXO to implement dual monitor support.
Um...say what? I put the the thumbnail grids on my second display.
When working in the LR Develop module, having the full image displayed in the LR screen while the second monitor can be set to display the image at 100% is so handy. I sometimes use LR to cull images in this manner, deleting the non-keepers without any editing, and then I open DXO to edit.
OK, I found how to "undock image browser" in the View menu of DXO to have that displayed on a second monitor, but that's not the same thing as what I described in the second paragraph above. When docked, the image browser is just a film strip along the bottom, and that doesn't bother me in the editing window.
In LR, I can have the editing window set up that way, with film strip at bottom and selected image above fit to the screen, but the selected image is also open on the second monitor, which can be set for 100% view.
Ah, I'd never thought of that config. I still think I'd rather have thumbnails on the second display, as I really hate the filmstrip.
When culling images (sometimes many of nearly the same shot if using burst mode), I can see the full image in the edit window, and have the key portion displayed at 100% on the second monitor. That makes it quicker and easier to select images both where the framing and overall exposure are good (editing window) and the focus nice and sharp (100% window). It also helps with processing, to be able to see a reasonably large full image in the editing monitor at the same time as a key portion at 100%.
If DXO can do THAT, please tell me how, because I haven't found it.
I don't know of a way to do that.
Is it essential? No, but I find it useful.
Understandable.
