New RF 24-105mm F4L CA issues?

I've been testing the replacement RF 24-105mm F4L and it seems to exhibit CA (purple fringing) that worsens as it zooms.  I compared it to my old EF 24-105mm F4L using the Canon adapter.

See the images and captions below.  Is this just a design difference between the EF and RF lenses or did I get a bad copy of the RF lens?  I've also tested my EF 100-400 L ii lens and my EF 50 1.4 lens and both of them look good to my eye.

This is the EF lens @105 focused on the white lettering.  You can see some fringing at 200% but it isn't noticeable to me at 100%.

Here is the same shot (as close as I can make it) with the RF lens.  The fringing is noticeable at 100% zoom and makes the text look blurry.

RF at 42mm again as close as I can make the same shot.  Zoomed to 400%.  I don't see and fringing or blur.
