How can I tell if a scanner is CCD for doing film scans?

I'm sorry if this is too far off topic, but I didn't know where else to put it and figured a film group may have an idea. Happy to re-direct this to a different forum if it's out of line here.

I'm not satisfied with my older scans and want to do some proper ones but 'proper' film scanners are just out of my price range.

I have a large light box though that I'm happy to use as a backlight. I had some success with my current scanner using it actuallu, but as it is CIS and not CCD, I can only do b/w.

I'm happy to go find a used scanner but even after digging around in tech specs I can't seem to figure out which ones are which. Is there a good idea out there on how to determine this?
