High Quality APS-C Lens Used On FF A7C (produces small file - Any Value To Doing This))

OK, my E 16-55mm f/2.8 G is a great combo on my A6500 and produces a 24MP file.

I have found the E 16-55mm G lens fun to use on my A7C (when in crop mode would be equivalent to 24-82mm f/2.8 but produces around 9-11MP file (but the images look great).  Seems this might be fine for family images.

Although, it would probably not make any sense to use an APS-C lens on my A7C (because of reduced / cropped file size).  And, using the APS-C lens on my A6500 would benefit from the full 24MP APS-C sensor.

Any comments / discussion on the above or is this stupid. Yep, this is totally backwards to the strategy of huge sensor mega pixel but fun experimenting.
