Work shortages, Covid, high demand? Why so many lenses out of stock?

The 800mm F11 is hard to find.   The 600 F11 is not.   The 100-500 is also difficult to find in stock, and I've saw one store trying to sell it for $1300.

Covid and part shortages I would think are contributing, but since some similar lenses are not in short supply and others are,  I have to believe there is very high demand.   Its pure speculation, but it very much appears Canon was caught off guard by the success of the R5/R6 and some of the new lenses.    It seems everyone buying an R5 (which was out of stock for months) is now buying and 800 F11 or 100-500mm lens.
