Epson ABW and/or X-Rite B/W Print Calibration ?

For B/W images I really like using Epson's ABW mode (within Epson's Print Layout program). ABW removes magenta and cyan inks, so color cast is negligible.

However, when using the new i1 Studio software for my ColorMunki, I was surprised to learn that a B/W print profile can be made for B/W images. In the final step of creating an i1 Studio B/W profile, you can choose "NONE," which is for images that are already processed as B/W.

Hopefully, someone else has experience to share about ABW and the i1 Studio B/W profile. Otherwise, I'm going to look for some test printing, which is going to take some time.

QUESTION: If I'm using Epson's ABW, then does it even make sense to create a B/W print profile ?

Backlit peony processed in CaptureOne
