I have heard stories about X-trans II, such as waxy at high ISO and so on.

I have a X-E1 (same sensor as X-Pro1) and an X-T3 (X-trans IV).

Lately I prefer the X-E1 but mainly because of the handling aspects.  Funny I thought I would like the X-T3 better but it is bulky and cumbersome and festooned with knobs and buttons.

I do think image quality is not an issue with either of these.  I think I'm going to like my X-E4 just fine (X-trans IV sensor).

Meanwhile, here is a shot from the X-E1, processed for a film look.

The "film look" is much more about processing than sensor type, I think.
