Bitrate translated to MB/s

I have different options in my camera for HD video. For example 25p 24M or 17M.

I guess 24M means it has a bitrate of 24Mbits. I want to know how much MB/s of storage is taken up by 24M vs 17M.

If it's the same as inet speed 24Mbit should be 3 MB/s vs 2.1 for 17M

So 1GB gives me 5.5min vs 7.9min of record time. Is that right?
