S21 Ultra, Mate 40 Pro, P40 Pro+: Post-processing is a personal take

The following images are screenshots of GSMArena's comparisons between the S21 Ultra, Mate 40 Pro and P40 Pro+ in two good light conditions and one low light condition.

As you can see, what people mainly argue over is how much sharpening and noise reduction a phone should do (the S21 Ultra clearly sharpens more). This is totally a personal take: some people like more sharpness while others like more naturalness.

In the camera world this problem is usually solved by giving the control to the user - allowing the user to adjust the amounts of post-processing aspects such as sharpness, noise reduction and contrast. My Nikon A1000 by default sharpens more than my Canon SX740 HS, and many people like it, despite the unnaturalness when viewed at 100% zoom.
