Silent Shutter question

I have been using my EOS R for bird photography with a 100-400mm
Tamron lens. Typically I use Manual mode and auto ISO with the high-speed continuous shutter. I haven't used continuous auto-focus or the silent shutter up to now. I would like to use the silent shutter but am under the impression that continuous high-speed shooting is incompatible with that mode.

I seem to recall reading and seeing videos on Youtube that indicated that if you use the silent shutter you could not use the continuous high-speed shutter setting.  The R's menu system tells me the same thing. Yet, if I enable silent shutter mode, I can shoot in high-speed continuous shutter mode.

I have the v 1.7.0 firmware installed.

Can someone help me understand what's going on?

Cheers,

Dave
