I am waiting for a long telephoto zoom for M system, something like 100-300mm

I’d love one too, but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever see one like this. Adapted is the only real option.

There’s a recent thread IIRC in which Larry Rexley details modifying the 55-250 to work with a teleconverter though...

and a 32mp body without shutter shock. Otherwise its perfectly fine

What combo are you having shutter shock problems with? I can honestly report that in the tens of thousands of photos that I’ve taken with my M6ii, I’ve never had a single image ruined by shutter shock.

Here’s a previous thread with a test of my own...

There’s a lot of Goodness available with this latest tech. Personally I wouldn’t miss it on account of something more ephemeral than real.

You know me so well... that EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS STM is one of my favorite lenses.

Yeah, I’ve been seriously thinking about getting another 55-250. (I don’t think I’m ever getting mine back from my sister! ).

Is the EF-S 55-250 that much better than the EF-M 55-200 to warrant the extra weight of lens and adaptor?

It’d be nice to have an occasional ultra-compact alternative to my 100-400ii (not to mention the R5 + 100-500).

I have a (non-reporting) Tamron 1.4x TC that may work with the 55-250, with a little of your patented surgery to the tail end of the lens. The M6ii focuses VERY well at f/8! A good project for this summer mebbe.

Cheers!
