I downloaded the Fujifilm XRawStudio which officially should work with the files. But I don't understand this software at all. You can open the files but I cannot export/convert/save the files or do any adjustments. Maybe I am doing something wrong but for me this software looks useless at this point.

Regard XRAWStudio, it's a tool to use your camera to process the RAW file in your camera on your card and produce a JPEG or TIFF. Basically it's using the engine inside the camera to do the work, which is why the camera has to be connected to your computer.

I'm not who this is a solution for. Presumably it's for people who want to use the Fuji development engine to produce JPEG output, but they want to have the flexibility to do it after the fact rather than in camera while shooting.

I haven't used XRawStudio myself but you've always been able to create jpeg's from raw files with the in camera raw converter if they are in the camera and on the card. You can create multiple jpeg's for the same raw with different film sims and settings if the raw is on a card in the camera. I was stuck with XP2 and no raw file support for a while so that's all I had and relied on it a bit. I thought XRawStudio was supposed to allow you to send raws from your computer to the camera and have them processed but haven't used it myself and might be misremembering. I would hope it would do more than just process images on the cards in the camera.

You bet. That's actually all the XRAWStudio software is doing. If you can't do it in the camera with the menus, you can't do it in XRAWStudio.
