Here's the worst eye detect fail of the Z6 II with firmware 1.10

In the image, the red box indicates what the camera says is the focus point. I do not have an Atmos recorder, so the red box is simulated, but does show what's on the camera's display.

So, the camera "claims" the subject's eye is the point of focus, but clearly the camera missed and found the placemat.

This is no different from previous firmwares, and shows that when an eye is "detected" (yellow frame when shooting), the camera simply cannot be trusted.

Now, a lot of the grab shots from yesterday were fine, but the image below was hardly taken in tough conditions. The subject was not moving, and there was plenty of light.

Settings:

Wide-area AF (L-people)

AF-C (priority set to release when in-focus)

Electronic shutter to reduce shutter movement

24-70/4 S Z kit lens at 70mm

1/250 sec., F4, ISO 1800

All other settings at default.

By the way, for those who think mine is a bad sample body, this is the second Z6 II I've had. I couldn't believe the first one wasn't defective, so I returned it for a replacement.
