In a way, yes. If you use the magnify function, that has the effect of making the focus point cover a smaller proportion of the frame. That's how I used to do it, when I used my M (I still have it, but also have the M6 and M6II, so don't use it anymore).

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.
