The basic rule on mics is the closer the better.  If your going to be on camera for the training video a wired lav would be an inexpensive way to get a mic up close and personal.  Audio Technica makes one that is decent. Deity has one as well that is a little more expensive. If your setup allows it you could also use a mic boomed just out of frame. The inexpensive on camera mics can be boomed with a stand and extension cable. Putting the mic within 18" will give you much better sound than if it is on top of a camera that is father away.
