Honda NR750

So who's heard of the Honda NR? Yeah, thought so. Honda has always been up there with the best when stretching the interpretation of the rule book. Superbike rules at the time did not allow V8 engines. So Honda, being Honda, developed an oval piston engine. Yep, that's right. Not round, but oval. This allowed them to run 8 valves per cylinder, at the expense of 2 conrods per piston. I shudder to think of the expense involved in engineering, research & development of such a project, especially when you consider that only 300 bikes were produced & sold world wide.

Anyway, I saw one in the flesh today at a Cafe where myself & a couple of mates stopped for a bite to eat. Place is jam packed with bikes & memorabilia. Fine spot to stop, relax, sip on a beer, feed the worms & gaze upon the awesome.

Space was exceedingly limited, so couldn't shoot from the greatest angles, but I think you get the idea.

Lots of other interesting bikes & things to peruse.

I really have no idea.......................

That'll do for now.
