Until I read this thread, I didn't know that IBIS has various limits.

Only when using an adapter it seems.

Seems like the IBIS limits for the X-S10 are pretty restrictive! A rat's nest! A can of worms!

Is the X-T4 or X-H1 any better?

For now, I'm glad I don't need IBIS.

My shooting buddy has the exact same problem with his x-t4 using the EF400 via a Fringer. A can of worms indeed!

disappointing

The longest lens I own is 205mm, an old M42 mount Kiron zoom. At that length, I feel like I'm getting about two and a half stops of IBIS out of my X-H1. It also seems like I'm getting three stops of stabe out of my Canon FD 105mm, Whereas I know for a fact I'm getting five stops out of the 16-80 lens IS equipped Fuji zoom on the same camera.

Sadly, I lack a Fringer adapter and a long EF mount zoom to test-but I can say that whatever the adapted 150-600 setup that Morris is rocking, seems tack sharp for birds in flight.

I thought I didn't need IBIS, til I started shooting cameras with good IBIS.

My understanding is that IBIS is less effective at long focal lengths. You can’t move the sensor fast enough the required distances.
