Would you buy an expensive battery charger?

I was on another site and the talk was how expensive camera batteries weren't giving as many shots as they had expected. The charger they were using said 100% but the batteries discharged quickly. The author purchased a Dolgin charger that, at least to me, was very, very expensive (about $500 for a two battery charger with a discharge before charging feature). He found that the charger reported the fully charged batteries from the other expensive charger was only charging 80% and once he charged it with the Dolgin he got the battery performance he expected.

That got me wondering about the charger I was using and to my chagrin I found it was rated at charging up to 1500mw before the automatic cut off. My $75 batteries are rated at 3400mAh! It would explain why my batteries are dying so quickly. Money is a bit tight but I'd like to get my money's worth since I paid for 3400mw. Just out of curiosity would you buy a $500+ (after tax) battery charger?

Always have a camera with you and make sure you use it.
