Watching me watching her

After shoveling a lot of heavy snow over the last couple of weeks, picking up my A7R IV with the Sigma 60-600mm Sport for a hike in the snow was a relative breeze. And made handheld shots like these easy:

She was as interested in me as I was in her, and watched my every move.

She probably noticed that her 3 to 4 year old was rather close to me and was keeping a mother's watchful eye:

The 3 to 4 year old Bald Eagle didn't seem to mind me getting pretty close.

Mother and child had a little chat about it:

"Remember, Mama knows best."

So all was well and I turned my attention to the seagulls on the beach:

Waiting patiently for some fish to pass by in the river.

If the seagulls suddenly flew out to the river, then the eagles would have immediately taken off to get to the catch first. Alas, after a long wait, no such luck and I called it a morning. Maybe tomorrow.
