Usage of Back Lens Caps

Hi photographers

Recently I have been contemplating about whether I should use the back lens caps or not.
To make things clearer, what I mean by back lens cap is actually the cap that protects the electronic contacts and the mount.
But recently I realise that every time I want to switch lenses I have to unscrew, put the cap back in my camera, and then mount it... I find it really troublesome and I worry that one day I would just drop my lens in the process...
So if my lens if in my camera bag (Lowepro one), should I worry about putting the back lens cap on or should I just not care about it?
