X100v’s new firmware allows digital teleconverter for raw. Is it any good?

I just updated my X100v’s firmware. I’m most excited by the ability to use the 50 and 70mm digital teleconverter for raw+jpeg. I heard it’s not simply cropping the picture. There’s some digital manipulation and optimization going on inside. 70mm was always pretty useless imo, but a useable 50mm would be great if the image quality isn’t degraded too much. Thru the EVF, 50mm looked kinda rough. Reviewing in EVF, it looked much better. I’ll import it to my C1 catalog when I get home and see how it looks on the big screen. Has anyone tried using the DTC on raw files?
Btw, I know the EVF is always displaying the jpeg. That’s why I’m asking how do 50mm and 70mm raw files look on the computer?
