Its faster on X-T3 or newer cameras, but bear in mind that its slower because its a macro lens. Get the 50 f2 if you want a fast, general purpose lens.

Fully agree.

A macro lens is inherently slower than a normal lens.

If you want a fast focusing normal lens, do not go for a macro lens. Otherwise you'll be disappointed, and will likely end up unfairly criticizing yor lens.

I would also second the above recommendation for the XF 50mm f/2.0 lens, which is an excellent one. The 50mm focal length is longer than what is generally considered to be a normal lens, but if that suits you, you would not be disappointed.

By the way the AF on the 60mm is not terrible at all. I am a long time satisfied user of that lens.

From the OP's subject line it appears to me that he/she has already made up his/her mind about the AF speed without having actually used it.

In my view that was the wrong way of asking about it.

Good luck with his/her lens choices.

Most macro lenses do indeed have pretty poor AF, but not all do. Fuji's 80mm for example has lightning fast AF and can even be used for action photography.
