Hi, I appreciate this thread was a while ago.

But I also want to know if I can add a Macro lens to Canon EOS M10? It would need to be comparable to an DSLR sigma macro lens 60mm. It’s for Dental Photography. Is this possible? I’m looking alternatively at a Canon 350D, with a 60mm lens and Meike flash second hand probably.

Theres no seating for a ring flash, how is this possible in a simple practical way?

I’m not technical AT ALL and have just been told these specs are required. Any help is grateful.
Thanks

You can mount any EF mount macro lens or extension tubes if you use the Mount Adapter EF-EOS M.  That Sigma lens would be fine, if it's an EF mount version.  Personally, I use a PENTAX-M macro 100mm f/4 on a K&F Concept PK - EOS M adapter, but that's because I got it ridiculously cheap second-hand.

The actual ring flash tube will mount to the front of the macro lens in the normal way.  It should have a selection of adapter rings which screw into the filter thread at the front of the lens. You would need to mount the body of the flashgun to a hotshoe mount flashlight trigger, much like m100 did here; https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/60994126.

You can either use a camera cage like m100 did, or a much simpler flashbar which screws into the camera's tripod bush and has an accessory shoe on its end.

Under the red camera menu 3, Flash Control, make sure that Red-eye reduc. is Off so as not to confuse the flashlight trigger.  Under the Built-in flash settings set the Flash Mode to Manual flash, the Shutter Synch. to 1st curtain and the flash output to Minimum in order not to overwhelm the ring flash.  (Minimum intensity is probably not that important for dental photography, as the camera's flash won't be in line with the patient's mouth, but the trigger will need a good view of where the camera flash falls on the patient's cheek.)
