The M6II would be a better bet for high frame rate (up to 14fps). It also has a terrific AF system, which matches or exceeds the R and RP. The buffer isn't bottomless, though it's pretty big in JPEG. High ISO is better than the 7DII, but not in full frame territory.

Indeed, the M6II is a good contender, even better, except handling, which is a pain compared to the 7DMkII. Good handling matters a lot for BIF. I like the M6II a lot but could not use it well for BIF except some backyard shooting in good weather. Too small, too fiddly, too fragile. I was always worried it would break or water would get in.
