Portraits with Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 OS Art
1

Using natural light, shooting with a Sigma SD1 Merrill, I shot some photos of an unusual, beautiful girl yesterday, using my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 OS Art. Here are some of the portraits:

OOC jpeg adjusted and sharpened

OOC jpeg adjusted slightly

OOC jpeg rotated but not adjusted - just to show bokeh, since this one is focused wrong

A couple of these photos show the detail that can be captured in a portrait, and I think a couple show the bokeh of the lens pretty well too. I was a little surprised by what appears to me a little like onion ring bokeh in the second photo I posted above. Those OOF highlights aren't bad, but they aren't as smoothe as I'd like either. I guess I could soften them a bit, by doing one of my multi-layer processing jobs, with least sharpness in OOF areas. These OOC jpegs are pretty sharp, because I have turned up the sharpness in my SD1 Merrill, in order to get what I consider to be better OOC jpegs. In fact, I'm impressed with these. They almost seem like there is very little, if any, processing necessary. I don't remember the photos from my SD1 Merrill looking so good. I guess I got used to my SD Quattro H, and never looked back. These photos make me look forward to the FFF.
