There's still a big difference in readout speed tho, at 1/60 for the recent E-M1/5 models vs 1/200+ for the A1... So the E-M1 II might still feature rolling shutter distortion or banding in situations where the Sony wouldn't (golf clubs, moving cars, etc.; anything moving pretty fast)... 1/60 is still a heck of a lot better than what's available on most other cameras tho.

Recent Fuji APS-C bodies are at 1/40 IIRC, and the E-M5 III & G9 are at 1/60 too, the A9 is 1/160 and the R5/6 can do around 1/60 but AFAIK every other FF body is in the 1/10-1/30 range just like lower end or older M4/3 bodies.

The G9 sensor scan speed is not as fast the EM1 mk 2. You"ll see more distorsion with the G9 in electronic shutter. Mirrorlesscomparaison.com did a article on that ( Em1mk2 vs A9 vs G9). Personally I only use the electronic shutter with the Em1 mk 2 and it works great for fast action.
