The 100-400mm is pretty sharp, if you ask me! Bird Blog

There are multiple threads I guess on the 100-400 and all are mostly about is it sharp, how is it that is not sharp etc. etc. Well to be honest I had the same questions back when I got the lens, now 5 years ago, man time flies. I tested the lens, but inside over a distance of about 20m on a tripod on the XT-1 then, it was sharp. So it was all technique when in the field. Well yes and no, still I got some inconsistent results with the X-T2 and even with the X-T3. However the numerous firmware updates helped and especially the last one on the X-T3 really improved the focus and therefor that last detail that is needed to get the right focus the right time every time, except when I'm lazy or not really paying attention, then I get average shots. Still average shots still can be nice. Just saying this is a good lens, great in some degree, but you need good light, proper attention to focus and no don't compare it to a 10k prime telephoto lens.
Why all this, well I was out on a hike two weeks ago and again when the light is right and you pay attention you can get really nice, sharp shots with this lens. Thought I'd share.
