Not sure why you need edits in xmp files but if it's for eg sending raw files along with the xmp file for use on someone else's computer, in C1 you can package the files in an EIP format and send that file which includes raw files and edit data.

When I make edits in Adobe Camera Raw, the XMP is modified and the preview image in Adobe Bridge changes accordingly. When I make edits in C1E, they are not previewed in Bridge.

I still plan to use Bridge, not C1, as my catalog because I distrust opaque databases like C1E or Apple Photos to manage my assets -- I use the filesystem, the OS, and Linux commands, and I want my photo catalog simply to show my what's in my directory hierarchy.
